DUNE ORNITHOPTER CONCEPT

DUNE ORNITHOPTER CONCEPT_

The exercise was to design the Ornithopter in Frank Herbert’s DUNE. The concept is designed as a flying machine referencing the structure of the Dragonfly and the hummingbird as they are the most agile flying animal.

The vehicle mimicks the optimized flight patterns of Dragonflies an Hummingbirds thru AI and so allows for a flying machine able to perform intricate and tight maneuvers, especially when there’s a need to evade the giant sand worms of Arrakis. The vehicle is powered by a solar technology and held together by the same technology used for power shields and suspensor technologies.
